We are a body of people with different backgrounds, ages, occupations, and family attributes. We are unified and united through our faith in God as the Father, Jesus Christ as His Son, and the Holy Spirit that dwells with in us when we live out our testimony of faith. Our desire is to grow God's kingdom by loving Him first and loving people second.
GCC is part of the Christian Churches/Churches of Christ based in the Restoration Movement. We have no denominational structure, and rely on Scripture for all matters of faith and practice. Each congregation maintains independent spiritual leadership through the oversight of elders, but encourages fellowship and service amongst its churches.
Where the Bible speaks, we speak. Where the Bible is silent, we are silent.
In essentials, unity; in opinions, liberty; and in all things, love.
We are not the only Christians, but we are Christians only.
No book but the Bible; no creed but Christ.
We believe in one God (Deuteronomy 6:4) creator of all things (Colossians 1:16-17) who is all-powerful, all-knowing and everywhere, perfect and eternal (Psalm 90:2)
We believe that God exists in three yet one; the persons of Father, Son, and Holy Spirit (Jude 20,21; Mark 1:9-11; Hebrews 2:34; Titus 3:4-7)
We believe that Jesus of Nazareth is the Christ, the Son of God and Lord all (Acts 2:32-36), was born of the virgin Mary (Luke 1:26-31), led a sinless life (Hebrews 4:15), performed miracles (Hebrews 2:3-4; John 20:30), died to atone for our sins (2 Corinthians 5:21), was resurrected bodily (Matthew 28:5-7; John 20:19-20), was ascended to the right hand of the Father (Hebrews 1:3,13), and is the only way, the truth, and the life (John 14:6); the only name by which we must be saved (Acts 4:12)
We believe that Jesus Christ will return to earth in power and glory and judgment, receiving those who believed on Him (Acts 1:10-11; 1 Thessalonians 4:14-17), but those who rejected Him will be sent to eternal torment in Hell (Matthew 25:41,46)
We believe the Holy Spirit is an active and personal part of the triune God (John 16:5-16; Romans 8:26-27)
We believe the Bible to be the inerrant, inspired Word of God, eternally reliable in all matters of Christian faith and practice (2 Timothy 3:16-17; 2 Peter 12:19-21)
We believe that salvation and the forgiveness of sins cannot be earned, but is given to us only through the blood of Jesus Christ’s death on the cross and by God’s grace (Matthew 26:28; Ephesians 2:8-10; 1 John 1:7)
We affirm that this salvation comes by a response to God by
Believing the truth about Jesus (Matthew 10:32; Romans 10:9,10)
Admitting our sin and our need for His grace (Romans 3:23)
Turning away from our life of sin-repent (Acts 3:19, 17:30)
Confessing Jesus as Lord and Savior (Romans 10:11-13)
Being immersed into Christ (Acts 2:38; Romans 6:1-4)
Live a life led by the Holy Spirit, growing in faith and maturity in Christ (Romans 8:11-14; Ephesians 4:11-16)
We believe in the Holy Spirit’s present ministry to indwell Christians enabling them to live Godly lives (2 Peter 1:3), and gifting them with certain abilities and gifts in order to build up the church (Ephesians 4:11-13; Romans 12:6-8)
We believe in the ‘priesthood of all believers’, making every effort to recognize, resource (equip), and release those called by God to the work of ministry (1 Peter 2:9-10)
We believe the sacredness of Christian marriage (Hebrews 13:4; 1 Corinthians 7:2-9)
We believe the mission of the Church is to follow Christ’s command to go into all the world and make disciples, baptizing them, and teaching them to obey all His commands (Matthew 28:18-20; Luke 19:10)
We believe in the Church of Jesus Christ, consisting of all Christians everywhere (Acts 2:14-47; Ephesians 1:22,23)
We believe that God governs His church through a local plural eldership (Acts 14:23; 1 Timothy 5:17; James 5:14)
We affirm and remember Jesus’ sacrifice for us by participating in the Lord’s Supper each week, and hold it open to all believers (Matthew 26:26-29; 1 Corinthians 11:23-29)
